The renovation of our homestead allowed us to expand our offer connected to the homestead and tastings for larger groups of people who come to visit us as part of their one- or multi-day trips. Since our guests crave the feeling of home, we offer a tour of our business, where they can experience and taste the tradition we continue. We organize numerous “team building” events for business meetings or smaller gatherings, where guests can process pumpkin seeds themselves and actively engage in the work process.
For all the travellers wanting something more, The Kocbek homestead in the heart of Prlekija offers you a haven of peace and relaxation. The accommodation in the middle of pristine nature will entice you with the smell of pumpkin seed oil. Here, you will be able to relax while looking out over the swimming pond surrounded by the family forest, and you may catch a glimpse of the deer grazing or of our other animal inhabitants.
The Kocbek homestead offers three types of accommodation.
The family studio provides a unique opportunity for a countryside getaway at the Kocbek Family Oil Mill. The studio is on the first floor of the building, which, in the past, served as an oil mill, while today, it is being used as a facility for pumpkin seed oil production. The large, 40m2 open studio is placed in the room where grain was once sifted over wooden silos.
The apartment that was converted from a small room where Grandmother Antonija and Grandfather Alojz once resided will win you over with its unique story. Today, the apartment, one of the oldest parts of the Kocbek Oil Mill, tells the family history in a modern way, while it also hints at the future that is being created by the third generation of family pumpkin seed oil producers.
Then there is a small room that offers an unparalleled experience that will not leave you indifferent. The hint of the wooden beams will remind you of its original function of being the mistress’ library. Later, the room served as a playroom for the children growing up on the Kocbek homestead. Today, it is rearranged and prepared especially for those who want to stop for a short break or a brief period of relaxation.
Not to be missed is the wonderful, natural swimming pond that offers refreshment in the summer months. The pond, which has natural vegetation, its own water spring, and is surrounded by forest, offers guests a wonderful, natural zen. Take a break while discovering the family secrets of pumpkin seed oil production and enjoy the idleness of relaxing on the large terrace.
