Join us from June 14th to June 19th, 2024, at the Kocbek Oil Mill for an exceptional culinary experience with chef Georges Chihane. The renowned master chef is coming to the Kocbek Oil Mill straight from Dubai, where he has lived and worked for several years.

During this event, guests will have a unique opportunity to explore the tastes of pumpkin seed oil in combination with carefully selected dishes with a local touch, expertly paired with selected MOVIA wines (Aleš Kristančič).

An eleven-course tasting menu will spoil your taste buds with the best ingredients by local producers combined with the excellence that is our “green gold” – pumpkin seed oil. Boštjan Volk, the winner of the 7th European Young Chef competition in France in 2023, will also join the event.

Georges Chihane

Georges Chihane was raised in a family of chefs and proudly follows in their footsteps. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in hotel management in Lebanon. He laterpursued his master’s culinary techniques and knowledge in the Cuisine Gastronomie at Paul Bocuse Institute in Lyon (Capitale de la Gastronomie), France. Georges started his culinary career as a commis chef, where started his culinary career as a commis chef, where he explored his passion for creative cooking.

For almost a decade,Georges has been an outstanding culinary consultant for foodservice companies and key operators in the industry. PAUL Bakeries soon recognised his talents and invited him to Dubai as executive chef for their regionally-known franchise. He continued to gain experience within the franchise.

 

He continued to gain experience within the Gulf region and opened numerous homegrown concepts in various countries including Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Currently, Georges is the culinary development manager for a well-known food distribution company and a culinary consultant for various hotels and restaurants. George is respected for his attention to detail. He is a board member of Qatar Culinary Professionals, the Emirates Culinary Guild, and a World Chefs and WACS Certified Judge. The iconic world association, Chaines Des Rotisseurs, recently awarded him the coveted honour of Maître Rotisseur.

Alojz and Antonija passed on their knowledge and experience to their son Anton, who in turn passed it on to his son Gorazd, who today represents the third generation in the KOCBEK family. Gorazd wants to continue the tradition of his grandfather and father and thus maintain a good name and top quality.
