KOCBEK cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil is made from selected and purified pumpkin seeds. of the highest quality. The cold-pressing process does not involve any seed treatment. The seeds are not ground, heated or roasted, but only the oil is extracted from the whole seeds. The yield of cold-pressed pumpkin oil processing is considerably lower, as at least six kilograms of pumpkin seeds are needed to produce one litre of cold-pressed pumpkin oil.

This gives the oil a slightly lighter greenish-red colour, a very delicate smell and a taste similar to that of raw pumpkin seeds. Due to the cold-pressing process Preserves all nutrients (vitamins and minerals) contained in the seeds. Cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil is a rich source of tocopherols, as the oil contains about 50 mg vitamin E in 100 g of oil*

At the Kocbek oil mill, we still maintain the tradition of processing that we started in 1929, working with local (indigenous) producers and using only raw material (pumpkin seeds) of Slovenian origin.

USE AND STORAGE

Cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil is different from hot-pressed pumpkin seed oil. This is why the oil produced in this way does not have the character of hot-pressed oil, but is lighter in colour, less dense and has almost no or a very delicate smell. It also tastes very mild - like eating raw pumpkin seeds.

Application: Because of its delicate flavour, cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil can be used in all types of cooking. For sauces, as a topping for pasta, for risottos, for cold and hot meat dishes. It also goes very well with fish dishes. It can also be used for desserts and for making various spreads...

Storage: Store the oil in a sealed container in a cool, dark place.
